Where is the Hippodrome located?
The Hippodrome is located on the 5th Floor of the Marvin Center (800 21st Street, NW, Washington DC 20052; cross streets of 21st and H).

What are Hours of Operation of the Hippodrome?
The hours of operation of the Hippodrome are as follows:
Academic Year Hours (end of August-mid May)
   Sunday:  12pm - 12am
   Monday - Wednesday: 4pm - 12am
   Thursday - Friday: 4pm - 2am
   Saturday: 12pm - 2am
**Note: The Hippodrome is not open for walk-in customers during the summer**

How much does it cost for bowling/billiards/air hockey/foosball?
The Hippodrome prices are as follows for the Academic Year:

Non-GWorld $8.00 per hour

Foosball
GWorld $5.00 per hour

What games/services does the Hippodrome offer?
The Hippodrome offers a wide array of leisure and relaxation activities for students during the school year. The Hippodrome is the host for a 12 lane public bowling center. The Hippodrome also has six professional billiard tables, air hockey, and foosball. The Hippodrome also has DirecTV HD capabilities to catch all your favorite games on all four of our main TV¹s. 

Can any person (GWorld or non-GWorld) use the services in the Hippodrome?
Yes, the Hippodrome is open to the public, however, only GW affiliates can reserve space for events.

Is there a group rate for large groups that would like to use the Hippodrome?
There are group rates for various games at the Hippodrome. Any registered student organization at GW, or any member of the GW community can submit an event request. We do not take reservations for non-GW members. Click here to see our reservation rates or complete this reservation request form and submit it to the Marvin Center & University Conferences Office in Marvin Center 204.  Submission of this form does not confirm the reservation and all requests must be approved.

If I have a GWorld card and my friend doesn¹t, can we have GWorld price rates?
Every GWorld cardholder has the opportunity to bring ONE Non-GWorld person during each visit to qualify for GWorld prices.

How many bowling lanes does the Hippodrome have?
The Hippodrome Bowling Center is home to 12 lanes.

Is the Hippodrome open during the summer?
The Hippodrome is open only for bowling reservations during the summer.  A minimum of 3 lane rental is needed to make a reservation.

What types of events are held in the Hippodrome?
Many different events are held in the Hippodrome during the academic school year. Throughout the past year, the Hippodrome has sponsored various events including the Live from the Hippo concert series, Bowling leagues, cultural events, coffeehouses, karaoke nights, and many sporting events such as the Super Bowl and World Series. The Hippodrome sponsors events during the academic year for students as a stress relief zone.

How can I reserve space in the Hippodrome?
In order to reserve space, you must contact the Marvin Center & University Conferences office at 202-994-7470.
              
Do you serve alcohol?
The Hippodrome is an alcohol-free space within the Marvin Center. Patrons cannot bring alcohol into the facility.

What is a Colonial Night Cap event?
Colonial Night Cap is alcohol free programming during the academic school year every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. Events will range from Karaoke Nights to cultural events and even live music coffeehouses as alternative programming for students during the year.
